The panoral radiograph presents an image which is invaluable
in the diagnosis of oral pathology. It shows us areas not normally captured by the smaller
x-rays taken inside the mouth.
We can check the jaw bone for signs of cysts, chronic infection, and impacted wisdom
teeth. We can see all of the teeth and check the levels of bone around them to give an
indication of the severity of gum disease. We can also see the jaw joints and the air
sinuses. All in all, an invaluable tool in the diagnosis of oral pathology
